Camping Hammocks
Camping enthusiasts that prefer camping hammocks instead of a tent argue that hammocks do not leave a camping footprint the way a tent might. If the camping hammock is hung tree to tree via a web strap that will not damage the tree or leave marks on the branches. After a tent has been pitched the effect in most cases is obvious because of the damage to the soil, grasses or other natural landscape. So those campers that are in favor of the Leave No Trace camping style will certainly like the idea of hammock camping. Not to mention the comfort and the open possibilities of sites because rocks and slope (not to mention most insects while not present a problem). Some attention may be needed to overcome the drawback and that is the cold. However with a bit of creativity this may not be a big problem. One idea is to open one end of a sleeping bag so the camping hammock can slid through and be zipped close to provide the necessary warmth and comfort. Camping Hammocks
