Can A Hammock Be Beneficial To Your Health?
Before we get carried away about the possible health benefits of sleeping in a hammock it should be noted that everyone is not the same and experiences may vary.
Speaking for me it is very relaxing and one of my favorite times of the day and my dog likes it as well, it is our moment to bond… and there is a collective ahhhh.
There have been studies that suggest there are some health benefits to using a hammock; however this is assuming that the hammock is properly setup.
If there too much sag you are going to have serious back issues because your spine is going to be in an unnatural position. If the hammock is strung too taut then you are not going to be relaxed and even risk falling out.
Think of a banana that is the curve you should start with and adjust from there, ending up with a slight dip in the middle.
One important item for getting the proper setup is an adjusting rope system that allows easy adjustment, especially if the hammock is going to be used by several people of with different size and weight concerns.
That brings up the next issue and that is size, if the hammock is too small for you then you are not going to have a relaxing experience.
If it is too big you may end up having it fold in on you and you will feel like you are in a taco. However if you are to error it would be to the larger size rather than smaller.
Another contributing factor in terms of comfort may be the fabric the hammock is made of; if it irritates your skin then you are not going to be comfortable and won’t be able to fully relax.
